OUR STORY

Established in 1927, Abe and Lena Schwartz, operated hotels in Missouri with the help of their sons, Marvin and Ely Schwartz. As a hardworking family, they earned the reputation for being one of the cleanest and most reputable hotel accommodations in town. In 1954, a large hotel operator offered to purchase their properties. Together they decided to follow their dream of moving to the Golden State of California. Eager to find new and exciting real estate opportunities, Abe and his sons saw great opportunity for growth within the manufactured housing industry and a dire need in Anaheim for manufactured housing. After all Disneyland just opened its doors bringing an amplitude of new business and job opportunities which resulted in a booming housing market which meant a desperate lack of affordable housing. With a clear vision and prime location, they began developing Palm Lodge Estates in 1955 and officially opened its doors in 1957. Slowly but surely, their sons started taking over the family business and by 1975 they proudly and successfully operated five manufactured housing communities throughout Southern California. In 1987 Marvin’s daughter, Deann Schwartz Pancheri, joined forces with her father. She started working site level positions to becoming an area manager, and now is the President & CEO of AMI. AMI was established in 1990 and is owned by Deann’s family as well as other partners. She takes great pride in keeping her family’s legacy alive. With her hard work and determination, she attributes her success to her core team of management specialists and hands-on approach and ability when appropriate to be compassionate and empathetic with her employees, residents, and customers. In 1987, Deann obtained her certified manufactured housing dealer license and started New Image Homes which specializes in new and resale manufactured home sales throughout Orange County. Deann’s husband, Travis Salem, is a licensed real estate broker and has been a driving force the last 15 years in finding new development & real estate opportunities for AMI. Today her daughters, Danielle and Brooke Pancheri, are following in their mother’s footsteps with the purest of intentions in learning and growing their family business.
